The Summer University 2022 has ended with the conference of Gustavo Bueno and Fernando Sánchez Dragó who together with the president of Postmodernism Rafael Meléndez-Valdés have discussed the cultural battle.

The president of Postmodernia began by explaining how “the battle of ideas needs conviction and is fought between globalism and identity, between the elites and the people, but from an intellectual point of view. What is the battle of ideas?

Sánchez Dragó explained that “the battle of ideas is better than the battle of culture and it is evanescent and a mixed bag like freedom, democracy or fascist.” The writer read some texts by Gustavo Bueno Sr. included in the book The Myth of Culture.

“Culture is understood as the opium of the people. There is only one civilization in the world, which is the civilization of asphalt, of technology, there cannot be a clash of civilizations because there is only one and not even an alliance" and added that "the battle of ideas takes place between identity and globalization”, and has quoted the description of a tweeter before the question that is globalism “consists of humanizing animals, dehumanizing humans, masculinizing women, infantilizing adults, and vice versa.”

"They want to oppose the evidence of reality, things should be as they think not as they are, this leads us to catastrophe"

Gustavo Bueno, for his part, explained that “we must distinguish whether we are talking about ideas or culture. If you put “cultural battle” into Google, a report from Público appears stating that the left is worried because the right is winning the cultural battle. We must distinguish between culture as training and culture as indoctrination, the latter being linked to institutions”.

Culture is collected as an institution when, for example, we speak of the House of Culture. “When you talk about the battle of ideas, you are talking about ideology, political, cultural ideological systems that involve all the forgiveness that they intend to implement. Well, he began to talk about the first institution that included culture, it was in 1908, the so-called Institution of Culture, “then the culture became an ideological label assumed to the ideologies of the enemy that were not in those vanguards. The general will is to stupefy the population, to create semi-illiterates”.

The main enemy of culture is globalism, in cosmopaletism

Rafael Menéndez-Valdés asked both speakers how to combat this situation.

Sanchez Dragó has pointed out that “man is a bipolar being, in the human conscience. There comes a time when the force within us forces us to fight against the force of globalization where we lose ourselves. Given the spectacle of globalization, I believe that we are not in the apocalypse, but in the post-apocalypse, people influenced by the battle of Armageddon, believe that it is a falling curtain, this is not the case, it is a process of second law of thermodynamics of entropy something that is set in motion in relation to humanity, since the world is in the process of necrosis, since the 5th and 6th centuries before Christ”.

“There have already been several attempts at globalization, they ran into common sense, with totalitarianism. Globalization was unthinkable because it was not viable before, but now it has been viable for 20 or 30 years because the Internet exists. This makes it possible for globalization not to fail but to succeed”, explained Sánchez Dragó.

For his part, Gustavo Bueno has pointed out that "to be able to talk about globalization we cannot do it in ancient times. Yes, there was a hegemonic will to impose a religion or an empire and it begins with a trip around the world, the first globalization was carried out by Spain when it was possible to confirm that the globe existed as such”.

This is why we have to be clear that “you have to educate yourself, read, the Internet has conspired so that today no one has time to read and study because they have enough to answer the tweets of their colleagues. You have to stop that, free yourself from watching series and assume responsibilities" and he referred to the students to remind them that "their obligation is to study, train and read, andwith that you will have a minimum to be able to face the garbage that they put in us”.
